The Georgia Cotton Pickers was a short-lived band that recorded in December, 1930. The group consisted of Robert “Barbecue Bob” Hicks, Curley Weaver and Buddy Moss. The best-known releases were “Diddle-Da-Diddle” (their version of Blind Blake’s song "Diddie Wa Diddie") and “I’m On My Way Down Home” (a re-do of The Mississippi Sheiks’ “Sitting On Top of the World”). The Georgia Cotton Pickers’ recording sessions would be the last done by Barbecue Bob, who died in 1931. Read more on Last.fm
