Pink Floyd was an English rock band formed in London in 1965. They gained an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups and became known for extended compositions, experimental sound, philosophical lyrics, and elaborate live performances. The band was founded by Syd Barrett on guitar and lead vocals, Nick Mason on drums, Roger Waters on bass guitar and vocals, and Richard Wright on keyboards and vocals.
